The Canada Lynx (Lynx canadensis) is a specialist predator (consumes a specific diet) of Snowshoe Hares and is one of the main predators that controls its population. These medium-sized wildcats are unfortunately the victims of the International Fur Trade in Canada and Alaska. Habitat fragmentation due to logging and urban development as well as hunter trapping also jeopardizes this species.
